Tile Scanning

Tile scanning requires the user to first designate a number of Scan Tiles to be indexed. Scan Tiles can be added either as copies of the Live Tile or from already imaged Overview Tiles. They can also be generated from one of a number of Scan Tile Tools. Once Tiles are generated a Tile sorting function can be selected which will determine the order in which they will be traversed and scanned. The default sorting function uses the closest Tile to the current motor position (indicated by the crosshair) and the proceeds to create a simple nearest Tile path approach. Users can define their own sorting functions as demonstrated on the Scan Tile Sort Functions page. The number of frames to be acquired at each Tile, the imaging resolution, and whether the scan should traverse Z with the FastZ device or not, can also be set. All other imaging settings are mirrored from the Configuration Window.

Note

Tile scanning utilizes the mROI feature to scan the geometry of the Tile created. This means it will override other ROI in the editor. Tile scanning also traverses Z depending on the Z coordinates of Tile objects themselves and is not compatible with the standard stack imaging.
